Biography:

A/Prof Samantha Fraser-Bell is a Medical Retinal & Uveitis Specialist.

After completing her Ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital, she undertook Medical Retinal & Uveitis fellowships at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. She attained her PhD from the University of Sydney in the area of Macular Degeneration following research at the Doheny Eye Institute, University of Southern California, Los Angeles and the Blue Mountains Eye Study.

She is a Visiting Medical Officer at Royal North Shore and St Vincents' Hospitals and a Clinical Academic at Sydney Eye Hospital/Save Sight Institute, where she is an investigator for numerous clinical trials for treatment of retinal diseases. A/Prof Fraser-Bell is Medical Retinal section editor for the journal, Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology.

Her interests include age-related macular degeneration, diabetes and retinal vascular diseases, such as retinal vein occlusions and inflammatory diseases of the eye (including uveitis).
