Dr Rohan Merani

Biography:

Dr Rohan Merani completed his undergraduate medical degree at the University of Sydney, graduating with Honours. This was followed by a Master of Medicine postgraduate degree. He undertook his ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital, followed by a subspecialty fellowship in Medical Retina with Professor Paul Mitchell at Westmead Hospital.

Dr Merani is a visiting medical officer at Concord Repatriation General Hospital where he is heavily involved in teaching medical students and ophthalmology registrars. He is Clinical Associate Lecturer at the University of Sydney in the Discipline of Clinical Ophthalmology and Eye Health.

He has presented research papers at scientific meetings, published papers in peer-reviewed journals, is a reviewer for scientific journals and has been a treating investigator in clinical trials for macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. He regularly attends international meetings to keep up to date with developments in Medical Retina.

His areas of expertise include age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular diseases and other macular disorders.
